Grand Opening

Saturday September 26, 2015

The Blodgett Mills Sportsmen’s Club held their Grand Opening Saturday September 26, 2015 to accept new members and to showcase the two new trap fields, 3 pistol ranges and the 330 yard rifle range.  The weather was perfect for the crowd of 300+ to enjoy the day outside. The kids enjoyed the supervised bounce houses and carnival games on the east lawn while their parents relaxed or went to watch the pistol and rifle demonstrations hosted by the staff of Boltworks Tactical Firearms of Dryden.  Inside the club house, there were vendors, raffles and good conversations.  On Sunday, they hosted an open trap shoot from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for novice and experienced shooters.

The club has held two NYS DEC hunter safety courses and a trapper course in the past two months, with more education courses planned.  They also held an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer training for 12 of the members, to ensure safe and proper firearm handling on the ranges.  NRA Pistol courses are planned for the near future.
